UCD-220, Checklist 4, Promotion, 12/1/04.
Updates information for publications list; clarifies the student evaluations
documentation required for Lecturer SOE or Senior Lecturer SOE.
October 2004
UCD-690, Academic Salary Scales, effective 10/1/04.
As a result of the California State budget for 2004-05, the University
did not receive range adjustment funds so the academic salary scales,
with certain exceptions, will remain unchanged from 2003-04. Revisions
are described at http://www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/tab0405/letter.pdf.
Deleted 10/12/04: UCD-287A, UCD-287B, UCD Appendix II-E, and their exhibits
regarding Lecturers and Senior Lecturers. Links to Unit 18 guidelines,
forms, and checklists on the Academic Personnel Web site are provided
in the APM Table of Contents.
Deleted 10/12/04: Exhibit B, Streamlined Processes, of UCD-220B, Academic
Review Process--Appointments. The streamlined processes are no longer
"special" processes and are incorporated in the appointment
process. UCD-220B and Exhibit A are retained.
UCD-220, Procedure 3, Joint Appointments, 10/11/04.
Adds the department's responsibilities for updating the Payroll/Personnel
System.

UCD-015, Procedures for Faculty Misconduct Allegations, Exhibit A &
B, 8/3/04.
UCD-015 outlines procedures for reviewing allegations of violations of
APM-015. APM-015 sets forth ethical principles for faculty and unacceptable
faculty conduct, and rules and recommendations for enforcement of the
Faculty Code, which includes prohibiting a faculty member from entering
into a romantic or sexual relationship with any student for whom that
faculty member currently has or prospectively might have academic responsibility,
or from exercising academic responsibility for any student with whom that
faculty member has a romantic or sexual relationship.
UCD-016, Procedures for Faculty Discipline (new section), 8/3/04.
Outlines procedures for the discipline for Senate faculty in APM-016.
APM-016 includes general policy regarding faculty discipline, specifies
penalties that may be imposed for violations in the Faculty Code, what
types of faculty behaviors are covered by the Faculty Code, and which
academic personnel are governed by the Faculty Code.
UC Policy APM-137, Non-Senate Appointees/Term Appointment, 8/1/04.
Corrects APM-137-30-c to provide that under the conditions specified,
the University may decide not to renew a term appointment on the basis
of an appointee's conduct or performance.

Revises Universitywide academic student employees salary scales, effective
1/1/04.
UCD-220AF, Academic Federation Review and Advancement, 1/17/04.
New section; summarizes the principles, policies, and procedures that
govern the evaluation and review of academic performance (merit or promotion)
of Academic Federation members; serves as a guide for the form and content
of the review file.
UC Policy APM-035, Affirmative Action and Nondiscrimination in Employment,
1/1/04.
The University of California nondiscrimination policies have been revised
to clarify that discrimination on the basis of gender identity and pregnancy
is prohibited.
Non-Senate Instructional (NSI) Unit 18 Academic Standard Table of Pay
Rates, 1/2/04.
This local sheet provides additional information for departments and dean's
offices in determining appropriate salaries for Non-Senate Instructional
(NSI) Unit 18 members.
