REPLACE: Section 025, dated 4/13/79, including Guidelines for Reporting Professional Activities, 8/6/79. The opportunity for faculty to engage in consulting and professional activities is a privilege long recognized as beneficial to both the individual and the University. The purpose of the revised policy is to ensure that a faculty member's primary commitment is to the University. The policy and guidelines provide that after obligations to the University have been met, a full-time faculty member on a nine-month appointment may undertake compensated outside professional activities for no more than 39 days during the academic year. 2. TRANSMITTED: Section 334, Cooperative Extension Specialist Series, dated 9/25/95. REPLACE: Section 325, Cooperative Extension (e.g., Agronomist) Series, dated 3/18/76. RETAIN: Section 335, Cooperative Extension Specialist (Advisor) Series, but the section will apply only to the Cooperative Extension Advisor appointees and to the few existing Cooperative Extension Specialists who have not been assigned to campus departments. As part of the reorganization of personnel and resources within the Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, most individuals in the Cooperative Extension Specialist series (APM-335) and Cooperative Extension (e.g., Agronomist) series (APM-325) were assigned to departments in the colleges of agriculture at Berkeley, Davis, and Riverside. The new policy will apply to these department- based Cooperative Extension Specialists and Cooperative Extension Agronomists who now will be combined in one title series.
