The attached UCD Policy & Procedure Manual sections have been approved by the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor. After inserting these sections in your department's manual, please annotate the Table of Contents to reflect the changes, then post or circulate this transmittal notice so employees will be aware of these policies. TRANSMITTED: Section 200-05, 2003-04 Academic and Administrative Calendar, 7/12/00. SUPERSEDES: New section. (RECYCLE previous years' calendars as they become outdated.) 2. TRANSMITTED: Section 200-06, 2000-01 Academic and Administrative Deadlines, effective 7/1/00. SUPERSEDES: New section. (RECYCLE previous years' lists as they become outdated.) PURPOSE: Provides UCD personnel with list of deadlines for various academic, administrative, and fiscal reports required during 2000-01 so they may better plan for possible workload fluctuations. 3. DELETE from the manual: Section 260-30, Endowed Chairs, 1/31/86. (RECYCLE.) This section is superseded by Academic Personnel Manual Section UCD-191, Endowed Chairs, 7/11/00. 4. TRANSMITTED: Section 290-08, Terrorist Acts Targeting Research, 7/27/00. SUPERSEDES: New section. PURPOSE: States the UC Davis position concerning threats or acts of terrorism against faculty, students, and staff or against the research they are conducting; includes procedures for preparing for and responding to threats or acts of terrorism toward the research community. 5. TRANSMITTED: Section 290-27, Hazardous Substances Communication Program, 7/14/00. SUPERSEDES: Section 290-27, Health and Safety Information and Training, 6/23/95. (DISCARD/RECYCLE.) PURPOSE: Changes section title; updates consistent with California Code of Regulations regarding the hazardous substances communication program; streamlines general responsibilities; specifies that when it is necessary to provide hazard information to contract personnel the responsible supervisor must coordinate with the UCD contract manager (usually Facilities Services Department or Architects and Engineers); editorial revisions for clarity. 6. TRANSMITTED: Section 330-31, Administration of Contract and Grant Projects, 7/27/00. SUPERSEDES: Section 330-31, 9/23/91. (RECYCLE.) PURPOSE: Revised to include DaFIS and PPS information; updates unit names; updates references; minor editorial revisions for clarity. 7. TRANSMITTED: Section 330-43, Official University Bank Accounts, 7/11/00. SUPERSEDES: Section 330-43, 8/1/97. (RECYCLE.) PURPOSE: Clarifies that requests to the Treasurer of The Regents for a bank checking account must be accompanied by the bank account signature card, general account information, and signatory information; specifies that reimbursement requests through DaFIS require both the approved Direct Charge document number and the bank account number; updates references. 8. PURPOSE: Provides for delivery of radioactive materials directly to the Environmental Services Facility (for campus and Research Park orders) or to UCDHS Health Physics (for UCDHS orders), which will deliver such items to the ordering department (exception: orders initiated by and for Bodega Marine Laboratory); corrects telephone numbers. 11. TRANSMITTED: Section 360-35, Security Alarms, and Exhibits A, B, C, and D, 7/20/00. SUPERSEDES: Section 360-35 and Exhibits A, B, and C, 6/23/95. (RECYCLE.) PURPOSE: Clarifies that on-site surveys for security alarm requests are valid for 90 days; requires that the department authorize alarm system preventive maintenance prior to activation; updates Exhibits A, B, and C, and adds Exhibit D, Security Alarm Disconnect Request; updates position titles and unit names.
