The attached UCD Policy & Procedure Manual sections have been approved by the appropriate vice chancellor and by the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor. After inserting these sections in your manual, please annotate the Table of Contents to reflect the changes, then post or circulate this transmittal notice so employees will be aware of these policies. PURPOSE: Provides updated organizational charts for the University of California and the UC Office of the President. 2. TRANSMITTED: Section 200-10, UCD Administrative Organizational Chart, dated 4/1/97. SUPERSEDES: Section 200-10, dated 1/1/96. PURPOSE: Provides updated organizational chart for UCD administration. 3. TRANSMITTED: Section 210-16, Continuing Education. SUPERSEDES: Section 210-16, dated 4/27/92. PURPOSE: Updates position titles; minor editorial revisions for manual updating. 4. TRANSMITTED: Section 350-21, Departmental Purchase Delegations. NOTE: Effective date of this section is 7/1/97. SUPERSEDES: Section 350-21 and Exhibit A, dated 2/10/97. PURPOSE: Revises for compatibility with implementation of UC Davis Financial Information System (DaFIS) on July 1, 1997; clarifies that price differential is not justification for circumventing primary (mandatory) agreements; raises purchase limit for UCDMC departments with authorized OV delegation from $500 to $1,000; deletes sample Department Purchase Order (Exhibit A). 5. TRANSMITTED: Section 350-25, Procurement Through the Purchasing Department, and Exhibits A and B. NOTE: Effective date of this section is 7/1/97. SUPERSEDES: Section 350-25 and Exhibits A and B, dated 2/10/97. PURPOSE: Revises for compatibility with implementation of DaFIS on July 1, 1997; replaces sample Purchase Requisition (old Exhibit A) with Cover Sheet for DaFIS Purchase Requisition Attachments (new Exhibit A). 6. PURPOSE: Updates types of programs for which employees are eligible (career, limited career, or CORE benefits); includes information on dependent eligibility (II-C); specifies that all employees are notified of open enrollment; describes plans that employees may cancel, reduce, or opt out of at times other than open enrollment; clarifies that the University contributes toward employer- paid life and disability insurance; reflects that AD&D premiums are no longer automatically paid on a pre-tax basis; specifies that COBRA does not apply to employees dismissed for disciplinary reasons; clarifies that information on COBRA continuation and conversion privileges is available from Benefits Offices; provides updated unit names, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses; editorial revisions for clarity. 7. PURPOSE: Simplifies language and makes editorial revisions for clarity; explains that failure to file an accident report within 24 hours of the driver's return may result in denial of the claim; specifies that all University-owned vehicles must be registered and licensed through Fleet Services to qualify for insurance coverage; clarifies that State-owned vehicles used for University business are covered by the University against third-party claims but not for damage to the vehicle; clarifies insurance coverage for rental automobiles; expands procedures regarding procurement of insurance; provides updated unit names and telephone numbers; updates references. 8. PURPOSE: Simplifies language and makes editorial revisions for clarity; clarifies coverage of insurance for fine arts and collections; updates information on obtaining coverage, reporting losses, and filing claims; specifies that departments must contact campus Property & Liability or UCDHS Risk Management prior to changing the location of a covered item; provides updated unit names and telephone numbers; updates reference. 9. TRANSMITTED: Section 380-14, Employment of Aliens (Noncitizens). SUPERSEDES: Section 380-14, dated 9/30/86. PURPOSE: Extensive revisions to reflect changes in Federal regulations, including visa classifications and conditions, forms, documentation, and procedures; updates references. 10.
