PURPOSE: Extensive revision based on current policies and procedures and wide consultation; describes policy and general responsibility for setting and achieving the administrative computing goals outlined in the Campus Administrative Computing Plan. 6. PURPOSE: Adds information about the electronic directives mailing list, including the department head's responsibility for designating an individual to receive and distribute email directives; provides procedures for subscribing to the email directives list and for locating directives on the World Wide Web; explains how departments request use of Academic Senate, Academic Federation, and employee data base mailing lists; clarifies that flyers, posters, and general informational bulletins may be distributed by mailbag, but campuswide memoranda require prior approval; updates unit names; minor editorial revisions. 7. PURPOSE: Removes explanation that service activities may be campuswide or departmental and that departmental services must limit sales to department, college, or school; requires separate account for each service activity; specifies that fees for goods and services are established according to Sections 340-15 (rates) and 340-21 (service agreements); deletes language regarding expansion of services; specifies that dean/vice chancellor must request approval for new service activity prior to development of rate proposal; includes departmental responsibility for establishing base budget and current-year budget for recharge activity and for reviewing and adjusting budget as needed; updates references. 10. DELETE from your manual: Section 350-27, Word Processors and Printers, and Exhibits A and B, 9/23/91. PURPOSE: Purchase of these types of equipment is covered in Section 350-26, Acquisition of Computers, Computing and Networking Equipment, and Commercial Software.
