Procedure 3, Exhibit A, Student Employees, 11/17/09.
Adds "by Agreement" titles; provides recruitment procedures for ASUCD positions; updates link to the Assistant Series Classification Plan; clarifies that a student assistant may continue appointment for a maximum of one quarter following graduation; clarifies that appointees from outside UC must be at a two or four year higher educational institution with degree programs; updates link to Work-Study information and reclassification requests; clarifies that exceptions to hire non-UC students require justification based on University need; provides reason for exceptions to the two-week posting period required before hiring a non-UC student; requires a job description to be submitted to the Student Employment Center before hiring a high school student; notes that a background check is required for individuals sponsoring minors; adds reference to PPM Section 290-32.

Requires the employee to enter into a written separation agreement to receive severence pay; requires repayment of severance if employee is reemployed at any University location, in any capacity, during the paid severance period; requires a written repayment plan prior to the employee beginning work.

Incorporates a number of detailed definitions applicable to the new Qualifying Exigency Leave and Military Caregiver Leave under the revised Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
UC 43, Leave of Absence, 9/1/09.
Provides consistency between University policy and certain recent amendments to the federal FMLA, which provides new military family leave entitlements and other changes.
