PERSONNEL POLICIES FOR STAFF MEMBERS
The policy listed below has been issued by the Office of the
President. After inserting this section in your department's
manual, please annotate the Table of Contents to reflect the
change, then post or circulate this transmittal notice so
employees will be aware of policy in this area.

TRANSMITTED: Policy 40, Holidays, dated 6/12/97.
SUPERSEDES: Policy 40, dated 7/1/96. (DISCARD/RECYCLE.)
PURPOSE: Clarifies that full-time employees are eligible
for holiday pay for holidays that fall in a week in which
they are on pay status, whether at work or on paid leave,
consistent with staff policies in place prior to July 1,
1996. (This has continued to be the practice even though
the wording in the policy was not clear.)
